Speaking on Friday morning at Nyalenda B ward, Beatrice Ogolla. a trained community health worker, said it was important to bring health services closer to the locals.

She said this could only be achieved by making sure the county government through the Health docket to allocated funds in making sure more community health workers were trained and provided with equipment to make their work easier.

"We want to have better health service provision. This is possible by making necessary resources available and ensuring most of the locals are trained to be community health workers.

Community health workers will improve the efficiency of the Health docket as most of the locals would get health services more easily," she said.

Robert Okoth, another health worker, also urged elected leaders especially MCAs to champion for the training of more community health workers in the area.
