Kisumu will host the fourth edition of the annual Biro Lich Basketball tournament at Jomo Kenyatta Sports ground in Kisumu this Saturday and Sunday. The tournament, which will bring together 10 teams from different parts of the region, is expected to promote basketball and nurture talent. The tournament is sponsored by different firms including Sports Focus Group, Liverpool VCT, Homeland events, Skylark, Khetias Super Market, Creative Natives, Equator bottlers and Pacho 360 hoops

The team expected at the tournament are Barcardia Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), Pacho, LadyBucks, Natives, Andaki, Mbale Saints, Tritons,Team Mamba, Team Wazee and Allstars.

The defending champions, Kisumu Allstar have exuded confidence that they will exhibit exemplary performance during the competition.

 In an exclusive interview with Nation Sport, Kisumu Allstar head coach Oliver Nyawanda said that his side will use the platform to prove its prowess. He also said that his side has trained adequately for the tournament, adding that he will make history for being the first side to retain the title.

“We want to be the first team to retain the title. All the teams will be focusing on carrying the day but we are prepared for their challenge,” said Coach Nyawanda.
