Kisumu, Kericho and Nandi Counties have joined forces in beefing up security around the three borders that joins them. This comes as a result of the recently witnessed chaos in the areas.
According to the County Commissioner of Kisumu Pauline Dolla, Kericho and Nandi counterparts Mukhtar Abdi and Lucy Mulili, residents of the mentioned counties have been assured of their security.
Speaking to the media at Chemilil club before holding a closed-door meeting, the officials sent a stern warning to perpetrators of atrocities saying that those found culpable will face the consequences of their actions.
“We will deal with any criminal decisively and not allow anybody to create animosity between the two neighboring communities” warned Kericho County Commissioner Mukhtar Abdi.
The security meeting comes in the background of the killing of a man at Kesale area in Kericho last month after the theft of livestock, the blocking of the Kisumu –Kericho road and stoning of Public Service Vehicles (PSV’s) following the Presidential Supreme Court ruling in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
