County governor Jack Ranguma said they should always remember that peace, reconciliation and healing are the key ingredients for the growth of the county.

Ranguma said they should all redirect themselves to the building of the country as envisioned by their founding fathers.

“On this day, therefore, let us all re-direct ourselves to the building of our county,” he said during the county Madaraka celebration on Monday at Jomo Kenyatta sports ground.

County commissioner Erastus Ekidor said leaders within the county must co-exist harmoniously.

Ekidor said despite the differences the leaders might have, they should accommodate each other to ensure that there is growth and peace within the county.

“If you don’t like others, accommodate them because you won’t take them anywhere,” he said.

Speaking at the same event, Ekidor said having differences is always normal but leaders should work together for successful provision of services in the region.

County ODM chairman Dave Okwatch also warned of the chaos at the Kisumu assembly stating that it had reached a level that it was scaring investors.

Okwatch called on the youth to repel any forces trying to seek their services to cause chaos.

“We are scaring investors because of the frequent bickering in the assembly and the executive. This should stop and the youth should also not thrive in chaos affecting the region,” said Okwatch.
