The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has removed two Kisumu County Assembly MCAs from six key committees for being disloyal to the party.

Kaloleni Ward rep Prisca Misachi and South Kisumu ward rep Pamela Omino were de-whipped for not obeying party orders.

The assembly chief whip Isiah Onyango wrote to speaker Gabriel Ochieng to announce the removal of the two.

The speaker read the letter that stripped Misachi from committees of appointments, implementation, agriculture and planning amongst others.

Omino was also removed from committees of labour, administration, fisheries and liaison amongst others.

However, Misachi was retained in fisheries and natural resources committee while Omino retained water and energy committee.

Onyango stated in the letter that the party will communicate to members on the replacement to the affected committees. Trouble for the two MCAs stem from their support of the impeached speaker Ann Adul.

They declined to toe the party line for the expulsion of the speaker and allegedly used abusive language towards ODM members.
