Kisumu County Assembly members have rejected an impeachment motion against the county assembly public service board member Margaret Jobita.
In a motion tabled by nominated MCA Jane Amollo and seconded by Wawidhi Ward representative Moses Ochele, Jobita was accused of under performance and corruption.
This is according to Labour and Social Affairs Committee which did investigation after a petition from members of public.
Nominated MCA Jane Amollo said investigation found that Margaret Jobita was unfit to for the position.
Amollo said the public who petitioned the assembly argued that Jobita has kept quite when there is massive corruption in the board that saw some of its members being named in Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) list of shame.
On his side Ochele, a member of the committee, Jobita has failed to discharge her duties as required.
Ochele said that Jobita and majority leader Samuel Ongou must leave to ensure the board is reconstituted with fresh blood.
However Kabonyo Ward representative Charles Aguko opposed the report and defended Jobita.
Aguko said that Jobita should not be used as sacrificial lamb on behalf of the public service board.
Nyalenda A MCA Jacktone Onunga said the attempt to remove Jobita is an act of witch hunt and that she should be retained.
