The committee, led by its chairman Fred Achok will be in Kisumu till Thursday. The committee started summoning the MCAs over the weekend for interrogation over the impeachment.

An MCA who had appeared before the committee and sought to remain anonymous says he was asked to state reasons why he voted to have Adul impeached.

“The committee has set base at Sunset Hotel and when I was summoned, I was asked to state why I think Adul deserved impeachment,” he said.

He added that all the 49 MCAs will have to appear before the committee since they all fall within Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD).

The assembly deputy speaker Pamela Omino who has stuck with the impeached speaker said this will give an opportunity to all the MCAs to say what wrong they have seen in Adul.

“Some members voted Adul out because they were told to and not because they had reasons. This (appearance) will help show how many MCAs are against Adul,” she said.

ODM has the majority of representatives in the Kisumu County Assembly and a handful elected on PDP ticket that is within Cord. However, some MCAs are concerned that the outcome of the investigations will not add much to the impasse since the case is already at the industrial court.

They now want Adul to first withdraw the case from the court and give dialogue being fronted by ODM a chance.
