The assembly is set to adjourn for a short recess from tomorrow Friday April 1 running to April 18.

Speaking at the assembly on Wednesday afternoon, Central Nyakach ward rep Elijah Omondi who was the temporary speaker, said the members will go for the bonding session with Adul in Naivasha.

Omondi said the session will enable the members to clear the bad blood between them and the Speaker.

He said before the attempted impeachment of Adul, there were issues that occurred between the Speaker and other MCAs that need to be sorted out.

“The session will allow MCAs who had a grudge with the Speaker to seek for forgiveness. The Speaker will also use the opportunity to ask for forgiveness among members,” he said.

Omondi said the bonding will also unite members and help enhance legislation process in the assembly.

Nyalenda B ward representative James Were said there was need for unity among the members as they endeavor to play their oversight role in the remaining period.

Adul resumed work two weeks ago after she was acquitted by Kisumu Law court over graft charges filed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) alongside six others members.
