Kisumu Women Representative Rose Nyamunga has asked MCAs to work with MPs in the County to foster development.
Speaking at a fundraiser held at Whirlsprings Hotel yesterday, Nyamunga said that devolution had not yet taken shape in Kisumu as in other Counties.
She said that the MCAs were products of devolution and challenged them to be on the fore front to ensure that the dream of devolution is realized.
“How else do we expect devolution to take shape in Kisumu, if we as leaders cannot work together to foster development in this county?”
There is need for the MCAs to agree and sit down with their respective MPs to ensure that development is brought into the wards and entire constituency.
“This is the only way that the county executive can be put on check to ensure that development in the entire county is enhanced,” she said.
At the same time, Nyamunga asked the MCAs to reduce on playing too much politics and stick to their legislative roles.
