County Commissioner John Elungata said the profiling is important to safe guard the welfare of children in society.

Elungata said some children are exposed to violence, abuse and exploitation through hard labour and sexual activities.

He said a data base on the activities of the organizations will be developed as a sure way of tracking organizations working in the county.

“We must know these organizations because some could be using children for bad purposes. That must be stopped only if we have a data base of every organization,” he said.

Speaking in Kisumu on Thursday during a forum to consolidate children agenda in Kenya, the Commissioner said profiling will help in eradicating organizations with bad intentions on children.

He said the data collection will entail knowing the area of operations of the organizations, at what cost and who is involved.

Elungata told the sub counties area advisory council committee dealing with children issues to ensure they work diligently for the public.

He directed the councils to deal with emerging cases of child abductions especially in Seme Sub County.

“Let the council deal with these emerging issues, like the case of child abductions that has led the public to take the law into their hands by killing and maiming suspects,” he said.
