Kisumu senatorial aspirant, Fred Outa, has been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to contest for the seat.
After presenting his nomination papers to the commission, Sunday, the Nyando MP expressed confidence that he will win the race come August 8.
The hopeful said if elected he would bring development in the city and also fight corruption.
“I will not ask for more funds only to watch it being misused or mismanaged. I will make sure that everything is done free of corruption,” said Outa.
Outa further expressed optimism that Kisumu senator Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o would win the Kisumu gubernatorial race.
Also cleared for the Kisumu senatorial race was Ford Kenya’s, Millicent Abudho.
