The locals noted that the self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) general should be released unconditionally and his rights as a Kenyan citizen respected.

The residents further noted that the government and specifically the executive should obey court orders regarding Miguna's release.

“The Jubilee administration should respect other arms of the government and release Miguna Miguna unconditionally. As much as I don't like Miguna, I think what they are doing to him is very inhumane,” Robert Oliech said.

Steve Chemno on his part stated that;  “We request our able James Orengo to call for a mega demonstration calling for the release of the general unconditionally."

They further noted that the government was attacking Miguna for being a liberal incorruptible man.

“We will make life very uncomfortable if we do not have Miguna by tomorrow. We will block all the ways of Kisumu and we will speak to our brothers in Nairobi to do the same,” Sylvester Ng’ochoch said.
