Residents of Kisumu living near Dunga beach have called on the county government to intervene and help solve the floods menace in the area.
The residents urged Governor Anyang' Nyong'o to solve the problem or quit office if his administration cannot sort out the mess.
A section of the residents noted that they lost property to the floods and need the county government's help.
"I lost all of my belongings, everything is gone, the children are very young and I do not know what to do," Stella Achieng' said during an interview with KTN News.
She further noted that the government recently took a tractor to help dig tunnels to control flood water but the machine was ferried away without doing any work.
Solomon Oduor on his part said: "We elected him (governor Nyong'o) to help us solve these kind of problems. So where is he now. Does he still remember the pledges he made while campaigning?"
Floods have been sweeping across Nanga and the larger Dunga area for the last four days as rains continue pounding Kisumu.
Another resident named Rose Adhiambo said both the national and county governments have a role to play in ensuring residents affected get help.
"We have no clean drinking water, we have no place to sleep because all the houses are flooded," she said.
