A section of Kisumu residents on Saturday made a special appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta after he recently signed an agreement with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The residents want the Head of State to appoint Odinga as the country's Prime Minister.
Speaking in Kisumu after Raila visited the area , the locals stated that a bill creating the position of Prime Minister should be introduced in parliament.
"We would like President Kenyatta through his administration to appoint Opposition leader Raila Odinga as the Prime Minister. Since the Opposition and the Government have resolved to work together it is now easy to introduce a bill in parliament to accommodate the position of a Prime Minister," Rodgers Okello a businessman in Kisumu explained.
According to the locals, the best position that could fit Odinga in President Kenyatta's government is that of Prime Minister .
"Our political differences were buried when Raila and Uhuru resolved to work together for the better of the country. We would love President Kenyatta to offer Raila Odinga a job as the Prime Minister through his Jubilee government. Actually its the best Raila can hold," Mercy Atieno another resident from the city opined.
