A section of Kisumu residents have warned opposition leader Raila Odinga against supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
The locals noted that Ruto was not trusted in Kisumu following the events of 2017.
According to them, workig with Ruto would tarnish Odinga's good name and reduce his support base in the region.
“We suffered in the hands of Ruto during the Anti-IEBC demos and after the August 8 elections. We battled with police who were sent by Jubilee government headed by Uhuru and Ruto, “Says Philip Nyongesa a resident of Manyatta.
The residents further noted that Odinga would have been President in 2013 if the DP supported him adding that working with Ruto with interfere with their fight for reforms in Kenya.
“We will be eroding all the hard work and perseverance we went through with Raila in pushing for reforms and justice. Supporting the enemy is very dangerous,” Peter Ochieng said.
“Raila would have been president had Ruto not forsake him in the 2013 elections and then he would be president in 2022 with our support but all that he threw away. He cannot be trusted and we want Raila to shun him at all cost,” Festus Jarateng, another resident opined
According t the it is Ruto who should endorse Raila and not vice-versa..
“We don’t need the support of Uhuru and Ruto to clinch the top seat. We can still have Raila as president without their support,” Millicent Awino stated.
