Residents in Kisumu have hailed Governor Anyang’ Nyongo’s leadership.Nyong’o took over the county leadership after beating his predecessor Jack Ranguma in the August 8 elections, and already residents seem to be benefitting from his regime.Residents in the county have lauded the governor for initiating various projects in the county, arguing that he is tirelessly working to ensure the Lakeside city benefits from development projects. They argued that Nyong’o has proved to be the man the county needed to realise development.Traders in the county hailed the Governor for banning protests in the CBD unless when called by NASA after it emerged that a group of youth was taking advantage of the demonstrations to destroy and loot property."We as traders in this market are very pleased with the good work the Governor is doing. The banning of demos has really helped us a lot as we have ample time to attend to our customers," said Susan Awimo, a fish vendor in Kisumu market.The residents also lauded the county government through Environment CeC Salmon Orimba for distributing litter bins in the seven sub-counties in the county to help in waste disposal within the busy trading centres.Bodaboda operators in the city also praised the county government for upgrading and constructing different roads in the county.Roundabouts in the city are also under renovation. "I am very happy with the development projects I am witnessing in the city. Roads are being constructed. It's just a matter of time before we begin ferrying our passengers with ease. Governor Nyongo is the man," said Tony Onyango, a bodaboda operator."I would really like to thank Governor Nyongo for the ongoing construction of the road from the main stage to Mamboleo. The construction of the road will hasten transport and reduce traffic snarlups on the road hence saving on time," said Caleb Wafula, a matatu driver.Governor Nyongo' also received praises for working towards raising the standards of education in the county. The residents cited the revival of the Sabaki Vocational Training Centre, which was formerly under the management of the community.Nyong’o was recently named the third best performing Governor in Kenya.
