Kisumu residents have launched a search for former Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero.
This is after the former Nairobi county boss ‘disappeared’ from politics something that is now worrying the residents who feel this will be disastrous to the community.
The locals who feel the former Governor could be ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga's successor feel disappointed after he disappeared from the political scene.
“We had Kidero close in ODM to Raila Odinga, all of a sudden he has disappeared from politics. He was a good leader loved by many and we appeal to him to go back into active politics,” Stated Donald Loliondo.
The locals are worried that when Raila’s time elapses in politics they will languish in political cold and many important events will pass the Lake side Community.
“Kidero is a very good leader. The fact that he was able to win the Nairobi gubernatorial race in 2013 and him coming second in 2017 shows how popular he is. He is the next custodian after Raila of the Luo community,” noted Nanzera Akello.
Others urged Raila to ‘look’ for Kidero or they will look for him themselves.
“We will launch a manhunt for Kidero. He can’t come that close then disappear on the community just like that. We urge Rao (Raila) to look for Kidero and speak to him about this succession politics of the Lake Side Region,” said Atieno Omondi.
The locals are worried that after Raila there is no one to ‘look after’ the community.
“We all know the type of politics in Kenya. When your person is not up their then you are doomed down here and development agendas will never get to us,” George Lemick opined.
They also noted that Raila came so close and Kidero should complete the work started by the Odinga’s for the benefit of the community.
Kidero has disappeared from the limelight after the 2017 competitive gubernatorial race where he lost to Mike Sonko.
