Four Gor Mahia football club supporters perished on Sunday in a road accident at Mlolongo on their way to Machakos where they were scheduled to watch their team play against Thika United.
Following the death of the four fans, the people of Kisumu have sent their condolences to the friends, and families of the bereaved.
The football club that enjoys wide support from the Nyanza region, lost the four fans after they fell off from the roof of a bus they were traveling in.
Here are some of the condolence messages:
“It is very sad that we have lost true fans. May their souls rest in peace,” stated Timothy Odour.
“I was shocked to receive the message of the death of the true fans of our team. We condole with the families and relatives of the deceased and Gor Mahia family at large. May their soul rest in eternal peace,” said one of the residents.
“The managers of the ill-fated bus should be held accountable for the death of the fans. How could they allow the fans to drive on top of the bus knowing how dangerous it is? It is time someone takes responsibility,” noted Patrick Otieno.
“We fans are always comrades of Gor Mahia but at the same time, we should always be cautious when we celebrate or become driven by emotions of the team. We should not engage in activities that will endanger us. RIP true fans,” Moses Tumbo opined.
“This is so shocking but May the Lord rest their souls in eternal peace,” said Faith Amina.
“The Club should set up a paybill number for the Gor fans so that we can all stand in solidarity with them,” said Daniel Omondi.
“RIP to the fans,” stated Young Josh.
