The vocal lawyer requested for financial assistance to enable him repair his house in Runda that was destroyed by the police when he was forcefully arrested last month.

In a tweet, Miguna also requested for funds to enable him pay lawyers who have been representing him in court.

"Yes I need an air ticket to return home. I also need funds to repair my destroyed house and to pay my advocates who have been working tirelessly without pay from February 2nd up to now in order to protect my rights. Are you able to contribute? Feel free to do so. Viva!" he posted.

His tweet elicited mixed reactions from residents of the lake side city. Here are some of the reactions:

"We support the General. He speaks for millions of disfranchised Kenyans and footing these bills is the least we can do," a businessman by the name John Okello said.

" Miguna Miguna should give us a pay bill number. Some of us do not use PayPal the one he wants us to contribute through. If he issues out a pay bill I will contribute the little I have to facilitate his coming back. The ardent supporters of NRM needs him more than before. He must come back," another resident said.

A section of esidents, however, dismissed the appeal adding that the vocal lawyer has enough resources and friends to rely on.

"I fail to understand how Miguna such a vocal lawyer who even lives in Runda one of the fancy estates in the country can fail to pay for an air ticket, repair his house and pay his lawyers. Is he being honest with Kenyans?" a resident posed.
