Raila Odinga shocked the country especially his NASA supporters when he met his political rival President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The two political bigwigs met at Harambee house in Nairobi for the first time since their fallout following the hotly contested August 8,2017 General Election and October repeat Presidential poll.
Kisumu residents had mixed reactions about the meeting with many strongly condemning it.
Here are some of the reactions from the residents:
"Raila Odinga has failed us again. Our leaders were not even consulted about the meeting. We are very shocked and did not expect such an act especially after Mr. Odinga swore himself as the People's President.
"We are here still alive in the fight against electoral fraud then our leader who should be on the forefront of this is already in talks with the 'despots'. We as NASA's supporters from Kisumu City are very disappointed," Patrick Opiyo a resident in Kisumu said.
Another resident from the Lake side city Jane Adhiambo a salonist said:
"Raila Odinga should not take our support for granted. He would not have been influential as he is today without our support. We have already witnessed the type of leader we have. There are a number of other potential politicians from the Western region, I think replacing Raila is the best option."
Despite many residents from Kisumu opposing the move, some of them supported it saying there was need for Kenyans to unite and take the Country to another level in terms of development.
"Enough of the politics. It is time to move on as a country. Unite as Kenyans and contribute to the development of the country. What Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have done is wise. We were trailing behind as a country," said James Omondi a businessman in Kisumu
