A section of Kisumu residents have announced that they will set up a paybill number as a way of standing in solidarity with lawyer Miguna Miguna.
The residents noted that it would be the least they can do for the general.
Head of Lolwe Estate bodaboda operators sacco Nick Ogila said he was personally going to open up the paybill number and rally other Kenyans to contribute money for Miguna.
“We felt the General really needed us the most now and through his lawyers we will ensure the contributions reach him,” he said.
Ogila noted that Miguna was a man of the people adding that raising funds would help the vocal lawyer fight his oppressors.
“Miguna needs us now the most, he needs money for upkeep, he needs money for lawyers and his representations, and he needs money even for his flights. He needs money to fight the regime that mistreats its people,” he added.
They noted that when the paybill number takes effect, they are sure to raise over 100 million for the general.
“If 1 million Kenyans raise Sh100 each then the General has Sh100 million and with that money he can do every bit of what is necessary to free himself,” Simon Wesonga explained.
The residents said that Miguna has already suffered enough and he shouldn’t face financial hardships at the moment.
“We believe the government is frustrating Miguna to a point where he gives in to their demands and one of the ways is stealing his personal belongings and we believe he needs money at the moment and we believe we can make a difference from the Lake region,”Chris Ngala opined.
