Kisumu Senior Superintendent, Jeremiah Munyambala said it had become impossible to make the "nyumba kumi" initiative possible since the residents have a negative attitude towards police and thus can not disclose imported information to them.

"There are many idlers within this region that pose security threats to the area residents. We as police may not be able to identify them but those that live with them or around them can but due to the negative attitude this information's never reach us," said Munyambala.

Munyambala further added that the negative attitude was the reason dragging the fight on insecurity in the region. He called on the public to be providing information that may be vital to the police.

"Be friends with the police as they are just humans like you. If you have done nothing wrong you do not need to fear them. Please report any suspicious person to the police,” he added.
