Residents in Kisumu county have been assured of their security ahead of the supreme court ruling Friday. 

Speaking in his office on Thursday, Kisumu county commissioner Maalim Mohamed urged the residents to stay calm and to continue with their day to day activities saying that the security organs are on standby to deal with any case of insecurity."I take this opportunity to urge the residents of Kisumu county to remain calm and vigilant ahead of the ruling of courts tomorrow, all the security organs are on standby to deal with any cases of insecurity that may arise," said Maalim. He added that Kisumu residents should feel free to report any case of insecurity for police to act and curb the insecurity.It should be remembered that violence broke out in some places of Kisimu county on 11th August after Uhuru Kenyatta was announced the winner of presidential election by IEBC. 

The violence led to death of some people and others were left with some injuries.
