Nyatega primary school Head Teacher in Kisumu East constituency is asking for help for the construction of more classrooms for the pupils. Elias Ogolla said the condition of the school is pathetic and needs to be fixed. Ogolla said he had approached the county government of Kisumu for assistance but that is not forth coming. He said CDF had pledged to construct two classrooms but only one is up and still under construction. Speaking at the school after receiving school desks, a donation from Women Enterprise Fund, the head teacher said the classrooms are few and most classes are forced to share a classroom. He said school staff does not have an office and are temporarily housed at the pastor’s office in the nearby church. Ogolla said in most occasions they have shifted to under the tree as their classrooms whenever the church has a function and needs to use their office. He further noted that the only two toilets in the school make it difficult for the learners to cope up. Ogolla said pupils takes a long time on the queue to the toilet thus the need to construct more toilets.
