Kisumu County will soon launch the construction of a new, modern stadium, which is scheduled to kick off next year.

According to CEC in charge of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sports Achie Ojany, the local government all procedures have been laid down for the project.

‘’We shall also use sport as a way of bringing youth together and even as a form of employment, and I urge the youth of this country to take sport seriously as it will be for their own benefit,” Achie said.

The location of the ground has however not been revealed, with the CeC choosing to keep it a secret.He, however, revealed that they have been given a nod by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), and will work together to deliver another stadium. 

Apart from the new stadium, the county in conjunction with a donor is set to upgrade the Moi Stadium to new levels.
