A man from Kisumu who recently won Sh20 million in a jackpot threw a bash on Friday worth Sh200,000 for his new wife.

Joseph Onywera, orgnaised the bash to officially welcome home one lucky Phoebe Atieno in a ceremony precided over by Rabuor Catholic Church priest George Omondi.

Mr Onywera, 63, won the Betway jackpot in June after successfully predicting right results of 13 matches.

The new millionare slaughtered two bulls, a sheep, a goat and 15 chicken for his quests during the two-day party.

"We also bought 100 kilogrammes of rice, several crates of soda, bottled water and other necessary things used in cooking," he told Standard Digital on Friday.

"The ceremony cost Sh200,000."

Ms Atieno will replace Onywera's former wife who ran away from him accusing him of being poor.

She however, tried to return to her former home but Onywera rejected her bid.

"I have never lived with another man since I left my home in Kisumu," she had said at the time of her attempted return.

"I know that is where I belong and that is where I will be buried, so I am just requesting him to accept me back."

During the party, Onywera also unveiled a 14-seater matatu and pick-up which he said will be for hire to help him generate money.

The event marked a new beginnig for the man who had stayed for 18 years without a woman.
