Calm has returned to Kisumu and its environs after two days of violent protests.
The protests were characterized by destruction of property and heavy police clampdown.
The locals were protesting presidential election results.

County Commissioner, Maalim Mohammed has said that the heavy police presence is meant to keep away criminals posing as political activists.
"The police are out there to protect innocent Kenyans from hooligans behind political activism. We will continue with the patrols," he said.
