Paul Ongili Owino popularly known as Babu Owino is a Kenyan politician belonging to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
He was the Member of Parliament for Embakasi East constituency before the High Court nullified his victory citing massive irregularities during last year's election.
Prior to joining politics, Babu served as a Student leader at the University of Nairobi.
Despite being famous and rich, Babu Owino grew up at the Nyalenda slums in Kisumu county.
In an interview with KTN's Betty Kyalo, the controversial politician once revealed that he was born in Kisumu City and grew up in Nyalenda slums.
Nyalenda is an electoral ward made up established an slum located in in the Kisumu Town East Constituency.
The ward is majorly inhabited by the Luo, Luhya and Kisii communities and is divided into two sub locations, Nyalenda A and Nyalenda B.
