The teachers said they will down their tools, and will not allow any compromise of the scheduled strike, in solidarity to press the government for pay rise.

They also warned their officials not to relent until their demands are met, accusing the government of insincerity.

Speaking to journalists in Kisumu County, KUPPET chairman Zablon Awange said form one selections will have to be delayed until their grievances are heard, as the planned strike will paralyse learning and other education activities countrywide.

He added that the Parents’ Association Chairman Musau Ndunda is un-elected and without secretariat, and should not interfere with matters concerning teachers.

Awange said that even members of the PTA in schools are replaced when their children clears from their respective schools, hence the court injunction is in bad faith and worsens goodwill in talks.
