Although Gwendo declined to comment much about the issues when contacted via phone, Kisumu county TNA coordinator Juma Midigo have said that they have instructed the party to recall her nominations.

“A party is run by national leaders but not grassroot once. When party top leadership tell you that they have expelled me you can ask for my comment but now I do not have any comment,” said Gwendo on a phone interview.

According to Midigo Kisumu TNA branch has called the party to expel Gwendo over gross misconduct because she is not working with the party but with their opposition.

“We need her nomination to be recalled since she is not propagating the party’s agenda,” said Midigo.

Speaking in Kisumu in the company of area party officials Midigo said they have written to the party national officials outlining their accusation.

Midigo said the decision was made by officials in a meeting held on April 28 at the county’s headquarters.

They said her position should be given to a deserving women in Kisumu County who can work for the county and propagate the party’s agenda.

The officials however said the national party headquarters should withdraw any privileges she is enjoying at the Senate.
