The committee says it will allocate funds to make the work of reigning Miss Tourism, Christine Pete, easy.

Nominated MCA Lydia Odhiambo regretted Odhiambo’s experience and apologised on behalf of the house committee.

She said that the house committee was not aware of her frustrations as she had stated.

Odhiambo gave a painful speech during the coronation of her successor Christine Pete at Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu last Saturday citing her frustrations from the county government during her tenure as the county’s beauty queen.

She complained of negligence from the county government and asked the County executive for Tourism, Trade and Commerce Rose Kisia not to ‘let the current Miss Tourism go through what she went through.’

“As a committee, we apologise for the humiliation and embarrassment that Wendy passed through during her reign. We never knew what she was going through and have discussed and agreed that funds should be allocated during budgeting to make the work of Miss Tourism easy and manageable,” said the MCA.

The nominated county rep told this writer that the committee is set to summon the county executive for Tourism, Trade and Commerce Rose Kisia together with the reigning beauty queen Christine Pete with a view of mitigating ways in which the county government can help the reigning queen to manage her affairs.
