Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o on Wednesday made a tour to Kisumu Urban Projects (KUP) most of which were commissioned during the onset of his administration.
The projects with an accumulative value of about 450 million are expected to be concluded by the end of 2018.
The tour began with the Kachok dump site where the county chief said that after the relocation, the the land will be used to create an eco-park of indigenous trees and children's playground.
Nyong'o further said that in his urban renewal programme, he has identified Kaloleni area to act as his model estate project, adding that it will act as the bench mark for the city's urban renewal.
The county boss also toured several learning institutions where he commissioned three bio-digesters and ablution blocks for Joel Omino, Kosao and Obinju primary schools constructed in partnership with KUP and Umande Trust.
"These projects will enable the schools to manage energy costs effectively while also ensuring that the pupils primary health care is upheld by learning in hygienic conditions," Nyong'o said.
