Kaloleni/Shauri Moyo Ward MCA George Okanga said the administrators have no offices, a situation that makes it hard for them to dispense their duties well.

“We are unable to conduct our duties and give proper services to the public without an office, we do not know why the government has not provided working spaces for us,” said Okanga.

He added that the officers in Kisumu Central sub-county have been moving from office to office in search of free space to operate from, further claiming that some county offices have been rented out to individuals, yet they cannot get space.

“It is shocking that some county offices have been rented out to individuals, yet we as county staff cannot get office space in these offices,” argued Okanga.

Okanga however observed that the sub-county administrators have taken the issue to the county executive to ensure they are allocated offices.

He said there are plans to meet Kisumu City manager Doris Ombara to send a circular to county offices to offer available spaces for the new county offices.

“There is a lot of impunity outside here and something must be done urgently,’ he said.
