Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch on Saturday morning lost his daughter following a grisly road accident along Nairobi's Langata Road.

Joy Atieno according to the MP lost her life as she drove to her house early Saturday morning.

Mr Aluoch confirmed the sad news at a press briefing in Kisumu.

He said police reported that Atieno's car lost control and rolled several times along the ever busy road.

The deceased was serving as a clerk at the Senate under the Energy and Delegation committee.

“Joy was rushing home to prepare for the committee’s trip to Washington DC, United States whose departure was slated for tonight,” said Mr Aluoch as reported b Daily Nation.

He added that she had even processed travelling documents for Baringo Senator Gideon Moi in preparation for the trip.

Moi was to lead a delegation of four Senators to an energy summit to be held in America.

“Joy, just like her name, was a very jovial and caring lady, a role model to her other two sisters who are also lawyers and other siblings too,” said Mr Aluoch.

Her body was taken to the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
