Speaking at the Lake while giving out the boats, Deniz Eke, the Turkish Ambassador said that the boats were going to be used by women in fishing and hence this will make them not to practice sex trade and instead earn an income through fishing.

"The Turkish government is very committed when it comes to ensuring that Kenya has a very responsible future generation. This is just the beginning and we will bring more boats so as to give our women something to do," Eke said.

The ambassador said that women were the backbone of every society in the whole world and there was great need to protect them and their future.

"My government together with the government of Kenya wants to ensure that the ongoing culture of sex for fish is totally eradicated around Lake Victoria. By so doing our women will have dignity that they highly deserve in the society," Eke said.

He asked all women around the lake who had children to ensure that they take their children to school so that they can get the much needed education.

"Let us take our children to school so that they can be educated and also get the much required knowledge," Eke said.
