Youths in Kisumu have been challenged to use their leisure time this April holiday appropriately.
Speaking on Monday at a youth forum in Kisumu Hotel, Kisumu County voice spokesperson, Audi Ogada challenged the youths to engage in activities that would be beneficial to them by using their leisure time appropriately.
According to Audi the youths needed to shape up their talents and skills as a way of occupying themselves noting that an occupied mind would be the appropriate way of leisure time usage.
He noted that the youths are encouraged to register with sporting academies during the holiday as it would prevent them from engaging in appropriate activities that may be brought about by idleness.
His counterpart, Youths Officer Kelvin Okello also challenged youths to manage their time appropriately by engaging in meaningful activities.
Okello called on parents to keep their children occupied in various activities, urging those who own business ventures to employ their children as a way of keeping them engaged.
“Parents are also challenged to educate their children on the importance of proper time usage during holidays and leisure time, this will help in fostering development,” said Okello.
