Youths in Kisumu have threatened mass action against the county government over claims of underperformance and mismanagement of funds and other resources.
Speaking during a joint press conference held at Social hall in Kisumu today, the youths said that they were preparing mass action against the county government saying that it has failed to deliver two tears down the line.
Nyanza Youth Association Secretary Brian Jobita said, “We are now organising mass action against the county government. We are doing this for the sake of the millions of taxpayers’ money being wasted by the county government.”
He added, “We must bring the change that we want as Ranguma’s government has become insensitive to the needs of the common man. We are the majority yet our leaders who are the minority has taken the county under siege as there is nothing to smile about and this county government no longer serves the interests of the public.”
Manyatta Youth Bunge chairman Benson Onoka however warned the youth against being hired by the county government to disrupt the planned mass action saying that it was for a good course.
“Let us pursue the course for good governance, equity and development in Kisumu,” said Onoka.
