Residents of Lolwe estate in Kisumu County have decried poor road network in the area and urged the county government to move in and address the situation.
The residents have mandated their area MCA Victor Rodgers to ensure budget for the murruming of the road is factored in the 2018/2019 financial year.
A resident John Okello who spoke on Tuesday said most of the motorists in the area are incurring heavy losses as a result of the bad roads.
Okello said the road network is pathetic and should not exist within a city.
“Look at our roads, it is bad, it is everywhere within this state. The county government must come out and help us,” he said.
Okello said some of the functions on road were devolved and wondered why the county government must be reminded to perform their functions.
MCA Rodgers confirmed that the locals have approached him over the issues and promised to follow it up with the county government.
“It is true the residents of Lolwe estate have petitioned my office to ensure the road network is improved. I want to assure them that I will forward their concern and follow up on the implementation,” he said.
