Nyalenda residents in Kisumu County have welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s move to launch the Estate’s clean-up activity.

The county residents through the Nyalenda B MCA Paul Were notably welcomed the clean-up.Speaking to Kisumu County environmentalists on Friday in his Nyalenda office MCA Were thanked President Uhuru for bringing Estate’s clean-up on board.

MCA Were noted that Estate clean will see health standards improved in Nyalenda and in Kisumu as a whole hence better place of stay for the residents.

Were stated that the filthy dumped rubbish in the area was environment unfriendly and could necessitate to locals attracting diseases.

According to him the county government should collaborate with the National government in seeing that the whole Kisumu town clean-up project is successful.

He further thanked the President for extending its government’s funds in seeing that the locals get jobs from the clean-up initiative to improve their standards of living.

“Let us utilise such the opportunities availed by this clean-up project to get employed to clean up our Estates to earn a living and to see that the locals live in clean environment,” said MCA Were.

Were added, “The locals should also be educated on proper environment maintenance, not to dump rubbish anyhow by instilling such sense in them that would safeguard our environment.”

Nominated MCA Caroline Ogot also reiterated that clean-up programme would boost health standards through improved environment safeguard.
