Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki has been elected Senate Deputy Speaker.

This came in an election NASA temporarily halted their boycott of House business and come to vote for their own Ledama ole Kina of ODM party.

The voting had to go to the second round with Kindiki garnering 38 votes out of the 55 as Ole Kina got 17 votes in both rounds.

“I will eternally be indebted to the senators and Jubilee Party for the great privilege and I promise to serve this nation with dedication and humility,” he said upon election.
