Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai claims the opposition is behind the ongoing wrangles among Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.
Speaking on Radio Citizen on Wednesday, the Jubilee Party MP accused unnamed NASA politicians ''failures'' of embarking on a destruction campaign to get back at the Wafula Chebukati led commission after losing in the August 8, 2017 elections.
Mbai said the group is using underhand methods to cause a collision at the agency, a scheme that until now is seemingly working perfectly.
''The IEBC is being fought by some losers who failed in the concluded elections who are bitter and are now out for revenge. They are the ones spearheading the ongoing disagreements and collapse of the commission,'' Mbai said.
''They are the same people who have always cried foul after every general election have always managed to force for the reconstitution of the commission and are again out for a repeat of the same,'' Mbai added.
IEBC has since landed on the spotlight following Monday's resignation of three of its commissioners citing poor leadership by the chair, with a section of the political class now pushing for the exit of the remaining trio led by Chebukati.
