Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has thrown his weight behind Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, terming him as the best Kamba political kingpin.
Speaking on Radio Citizen on Wednesday night, the ruling Jubilee Party ally maintained that Musyoka remains the Ukambani point-man amid an ongoing supremacy battle between him and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
''Kalonzo remains our leader in Ukambani whom we admire and respect. He is an experienced veteran politician who is not to be ignored in the region's politics,'' Mbai said.
Mbai, however, urged Kalonzo to use his influence to ensure that his supporters are included in the next government.
He said Kalonzo should lay out foundations that will see him be part of the winning team in 2022 presidential race.
According to the lawmaker, Kalonzo should consider joining hands with Deputy President William Ruto whom he said is certainly headed for the top post after the polls.
''We trust him but he has to ensure that we are not left out of the government this time round. He should join hands with the Deputy President whose presidency is almost assured come 2022,'' Mbai added.
Kalonzo is keen on transforming the Wiper party into One Kenya Movement (OKM) in preparation for the polls.
