The driver, John Nzuki, is believed to have crashed the politician to death, Friday, using a County fire engine.

The driver was arrested at the Kitui Ginnery and detained at the Kitui Central police station, Friday, awaiting prosecution.

According to the County commissioner Boaz Cherutich, Mwangangi died on the spot after she was crashed by the fire engine.

The engine missed former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu by inches, as the driver tried to scare away angry protesters who had lit bonfires on roads. They were lamenting, after the County government destroyed their kiosks.

Ngilu who seeks to vie for Kitui gubernatorial post, and the deceased, had joined the protesters in demanding for their rights.
