Jubilee supporters in Kitui have expressed their support over Tuesday’s ouster of Bungoma Senator and NASA co-principal, Moses Wetangula from the minority leader position in the Senate.
Led by the “Wamama na Uhuruto” Chairperson, Esther Kalunda Ndile, the Jubilee supporters accused the Ford Kenya party leader of undermining NASA’s bid to establish a common agenda with the government as initiated by the opposition chief Raila Odinga.
This is following a recent surprise meeting between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ndile said that Wetangula was trying to stand in the way of uniting Kenyans and national development and should not be tolerated.
“Whoever stands in the way of uniting Kenyans is an enemy of development and should not be tolerated,” Ndile told the press in Kitui Town.
The group further lauded Raila Odinga and President Kenyatta for reaching out to each other in dialogue for the sake of the country’s unity.
“Through your gesture of unity you have proved that Kenya is bigger than any single individual and that Kenya belongs to us all,” she noted.
This comes a day after NASA leader Raila Odinga held a crisis meeting with ODM Senators to resolve Moses Wetangula's ouster.
However, the matter wasn't resolved as the Senators are set to hold a retreat in two weeks time to discuss the matter further.
