Leaders from Kitui County under the leadership of Senator David Musila have called on National security authorities in the country to deal with the illegal headers who have intruded Mwingi area following an outcry from residents that banditry was on the rise.
The leaders met at Kasiluni market in kyuso Sub County and threatened to take law into their hands if the central government and Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery do not move in swiftly to address the problem that has portrayed local leaders as lazy.
The interior security Cabinet Secretary's office has been accused of issuing fake promises of curbing the issue, but nothing has been done.
Senator Musila noted that the residents were tired of empty promises and insisted that they wanted actions as three men had already been slain by the bandits.
“15 men died in the hands of Somali bandits in the course of last year but no assistance was accorded to us neither by Nkaissery’s office nor by the area Member of Parliament” noted Musila.
