Residents in Kitui are not planning to stop burning vehicles carrying charcoal anytime soon.
This is after they on Tuesday evening again burnt a probox car that was carrying charcoal in the town.
The obedient residents who are acting as their elected Governor Charity Ngilu said last week that any vehicle found carrying charcoal should be burnt.
Caleb Mutembei a local said he saw people gathering carrying jerricans of petrol as they vowed to teach the driver of the probox a lesson.
"When they arrived at the shopping centre the driver and another man on board ran for their dear lives as the angered crowd set the car a blaze," he said.
Governor Ngilu has remained unbound despite pressure against her recent remarks that charcoal carrying vehicles are burnt saying it was for the benefit of the people.
She has also declared war on pastoralists who tour the area.
Last week a lorry found carrying charcoal was burnt down by locals.
On Monday transport was paralised along the Limuru- Nairobi highway as locals demanded for the prosecution of the governor.
