Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has slammed ODM senators for signing a petition to oust Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula as senate minority leader.
Wambua argues that the move by the Raila Odinga’s ODM party senators is betrayal and contravenes the NASA agenda.
Speaking to journaliats at Kabati, Kitui West on Saturday, Wambua said that ODM has betrayed the NASA unity.
He claimed that Raila's politicians are determined to the see the NASA coalition crumble.
‘’It is unfortunate that the same people who champion for NASA are the ones slowly destroying and 'eating' up the coalition,’’ he said as quoated by a local daily.
Wambua said that Wetangula’s ouster will mark the end of the NASA coalition.
He asked NASA leader Raila Odinga to come clear on his role in the petition signed by ODM senators to kick out Wetangula as the senate minority leader.
‘‘The Orange Party has been the biggest enemy of NASA coalition and that is now clearly coming out for everyone to see,’’ he said.
On Thursday sixteen ODM senators signed a petition to have Wetangula replaced by Siaya senator James Orengo as the senate minority leader.
Wetangula says that he will not be intimidated by the ouster, adding that he is not in NASA by mistake.
On Friday, Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula held a crisis meeting at Karen Golf club to discuss the matter.
Kalonzo and Mudavadi vowed to protect the Bungoma senator against being ousted as the senate minority leader.
Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula's parties will convene their National Executive Council (NEC) meetings on Tuesday to decide on ODM's future in the NASA coalition.
ODM leader Raila Odinga has since denied having a hand in the Wetangula ouster.
Claims of cracks in the NASA coalition continues to emerge days after President Uhuru Kenyatta met with Raila last week and agreed to unite the country.
A section of politicians allied to Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula have been crying foul on why Raila kept his co-principals in the dark about the meeting.
Kalonzo is now seeking a separate meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta to discuss national dialogue.
