Kitui South MP Rachel Kaki Nyamai has vowed to put up spirited campaigns for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid in Ukambani.

Nyamai says that she will work hard to make sure that DP Ruto garners all the Kamba votes in 2022.

Speaking to residents at Mutha market, Kitui south constituency on Sunday, Nyamai said that DP Ruto is the best-suited candidate to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

She said that Ukambani will rally behind DP Ruto, noting that it is the only way the region will attain her development agenda.

The Jubilee MP said that Ruto has the capability to push for development and unite the country if he succeeds president Uhuru Kenyatta.

"We are gearing up to 2022 and I will be leading DP Ruto's political caravan in Ukambani as we seek leadership that will unite the country and guarantees development," she said as quoted by a local daily.

Nyamai assured Kambas of Jubilee government commitment to promote development in the region.

She said that the region has suffered over the year's supporting the opposition.

Nyamai's statement is a blow to Kamba politician's who have declared an interest in the 2022 presidential election.

The Kitui South MP, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto ditched governor Charity Ngilu's Narc party to join Jubilee in 2015.

She won re-election in last year's polls on Jubilee Party ticket and is among few Kamba politician's supporting Jubilee government.
