Addressing the public at Mutonguni Ward in Kitui West on Monday, Kasulu said Edith Nyenze is the right candidate for the parliamentary seat.

She noted that the late Nyenze's  widow will complete the development projects which her husband left incomplete if elected in the by-election.

Kasalu said the constituency needs a focused leader who understands the problems faced by locals.

She argued that Nyenze’s widow is experienced and has knowledge of the challenges which the residents go through.

“Our request is that on March 26,  you turn out in large numbers and elect Edith as your Member of Parliament,” Kasalu said.

Kasalu said voting for Edith will show honor to her late husband who died in December 2017.

Edith Nyenze is contesting for the seat on a Wiper party ticket.

Other candidates seeking to be the next Kitui West MP are Robert Lelli (Narc Kenya), Dennis Mulwa (Independent), Fridah  Muti (Kenya National Congress) and Elijah Kilonzi (Chama Cha Mapinduzi).

The Kitui West Parliamentary seat remained vacant following the sudden death of Francis Nyenze on December 6, 2017.

Nyenze reportedly died after a long battle with colon cancer.

The IEBC has slated March 26 for the by-election.
