Speaking at Nyambaria High School Bosire said his office has received numerous cases of students dropping out of school opting for manual jobs.

He urged the Ministry of Education to chip in and solve the menace by carrying out an assessment to find the reasons behind it.

“I am shocked that every time I report to my office, I find numerous cases of children dropping out of school. The situation should be investigated for appropriate action before it escalates,” said Bosire.

“The Ministry of education has a mandate to do the assessment and I am worried that my constituents will lag behind in education if they do not intervene,” he added.

Miriri Ward is most affected recording over 50 cases.

Bosire challenged students to embrace education since it is the only way to acquire knowledge that would help them combat economic challenges.

“Students should take advantage of the subsidised education and join schools in bid to acquire knowledge,” said Bosire.
